I also saw a big old spool that would have made a great table for $9, a wicker picnic basket for $4 and about 17 lamps I wanted to bring home and subject to hours of spray painting.

It’s still fun though!.Here’s how it happened:.

We have this big bin of wood scraps sitting in the middle of our driveway right now.All little leftover pieces from the playhouse we’ve been working on.So much project potential!.

I found some of the thinner scraps and set them down on the driveway. Then, I just broke them to the size that I wanted using my hands and brute strength.

OK, the strength required wasn’t all that brute to tell you the truth.

They ended up broken either way though..There’s a big place in my heart that loves seeing things all nicely lined up like this.. Chris put these together using some basic pine and some galvanized metal rods to hold the T-discs in place.

There are two rods holding each section of discs in the front of each section and then one in the back behind where the discs sit, making a little triangular compartment for the discs to slide into..I used one coat of my favorite.

Rustoleum Early American.stain, just to give them a bit of color and I just love how they turned out!.
